This is just a test page for me to get more used to XHTML and its tags.
Having used HTML years ago, I found that the knowledge I had was outdated and rarely used. So I then decided it would be beneficial for me to create pages such as this with the sole purpose of getting used to XHTML elements and CSS.
The purpose of this particular layout is to, above and beyond simply reacquainting myself with CSS and learning new, and hopefully better, techniques, see how possible it is to make a crisp and good looking layout. Simplicity at its best, I hope.
Having never really used tables before, I experimented with a simple table. After experimenting with the table tags, I decided that one which uses <thead>
, <colgroup>
, and so on, is more pleasing to use. It also feels a little more advanced, since it gives me more control over all the sections and allows for better CSS modifying.
